Thursday Thought's

Today I have decided to link up with Jennifer over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom
I have been following her blog for sometime now, and decided it was time to get back on the BLOGWAGON!!! So here they are

It is currently 4:31 am, and I forgot to take my sleeping med's therefore I am wide awake.  At this point it is too late to go to bed now the husband will be getting up for work in an hour and the little guy will be off to school shortly as well... So I guess no sleep tonight/this morning, maybe I will be able to get Taz and Bugs to nap today so mommy can as well.  I have no trouble napping during the day however, once night falls if I don't take my medicine sleep does not come easily.  I think it has something to do with night time being so peaceful in my house.

Is it just me or has it been an extremely long week? I mean really its only Thursday and school just started back in our town on Monday and I feel like it has been forever.  

Im also sad this week thinking that Summer is already over! Where did it go? It seems to have passed by in the blink of an eye, and you know I planned all summer to blog and just never got around to it! I underestimated having a 16,7,3 and 2 year old in the house all day everyday...(it rained ALOT this season) 

Also we didnt complete our summer bucket list, we put a nice dent in it but with the weather (rain) so much most of our activities were canceled thank goodness we always have next year right?

The baybah, (hubs) and I have decided to do a budget binder!!! EEEK, it sounds fun actually, trying to see where you can cut back on your spending and whatnot however when the bay tells you (i.e. me) that I should cancel my subscription boxes, lets just say things get ugly.... we are talking Real House Wives Of ATL ugly!!! I am just not having it, I'm not telling him to cut down on his driving to work because of the gas it takes am I? No I'm not! I mean that's just unrealistic right? RIGHT?

Also, I would like to start doing more crafty activities with the littles during the day, any idea's on NON-messy crafts/activities for a 2 and a half and 3 and a half year old would enjoy? I have to find new ways to entertain them because they get bored quickly around these parts and I may lose my mind if I have to magic erase my playroom walls ONE MORE TIME this week! HELP

And finally, I know school starting back is just rotten, I am Not what one would call a morning person therefore school for the little guy and Hot Shot (the teen) is not a happy subject for me I like morning sleep, I mean who doesn't right? Oh yes back to the school starting back issue I must be honest with you, I am super excited for Fall I believe its the best season ever! The weather rocks because its not too hot and its not too cold, and all the festivals and pumpkin picking and apple picking and MY Birthday, and the statefair.  I could just go on and on about all of the reason why I love Fall.... but, I think I will spare you all because you should KNOW them already.

It's been a BAD MONTH

Okay So, I havent blogged in over a month, and I feel absolutely horrib about that.  There's been a BUNCH going on in my life recently.  My husband had leave because he will be deploying to Kosovo (hopefully NOT) in several weeks.  And I have been sick sick sick, like just this past week I have been to the ER and then the doctors 4 times in three days.  They have done so much blood work and lab test's on me and can not figure out what it is that is wrong with me.  And to be perfectly honest it has been HELL, the fact that I am in constant pain isnt even the most annoying part of the whole sickness thing.  It's the fact after numerous doctors, NO ONE CAN tell me what's wrong, which in turn means NOONE can fix it, and i just have to continue to live my life and go to the doctors every other day to be poked and prodded until a test comes back with something legit to fix... anyways just wanted to put that out there.... I miss blogging, I've continued to read mostly NA at the moment apparently I'm addicted haha anyways I will begin posting again this weekend with a few review's and I'll be linking up for some Meme's this week as well... so stay tuned and keep me in your prayers ya'll....

Top Ten Spring TBR Pile #1

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday is all about your Spring TBR piles, either books you've been meaning to read or new releases this spring that you plan on getting around to!!!


1. Emblaze- The third installment of the Violet Eden Series, It came out last week, I bought it, and just havent started it yet, even though I have been Waiting for its release!

2. Pivot Point~ I have heard such great things about this one and I have it just haven't gotten around to it yet so its also at the top of my TBR pile.

3. Elite- Book 2 in the Selection Trilogy, I bought Selection on release day last year, finished the book in record time and have been pining for book two ever sense.

4. Infatuate- Im a sucker for books with Angels and this one is no exception. Book two in the Guilded Wings series.  I can't wait to see how the first books love triangle will play out.

5. Forever of Ella and Micah- This book can't be released any faster!!!!! I need this book badly, I absolutely fell in love with the characters in Jessica Sorensen's NA novel!

6. Rise- This one is the final to the Eve trilogy.  It has been awhile sense book two was released and I read it so im going to have to go back and reread the previous two installments before diving into this one, however I've got time its not due to be released until April.

7. Elegy- (Final book in the Hereafter trilogy) Not sure if you have sensed a pattern but I have a thing for series books lol Trilogy's are my thang!!!!! Not releasing until June I have plenty of time to refresh my mem. on the first two books~!

8.Mystic- Soul seekers book three by Allison Noel Im a HUGE fan of her's and this series ROCKS luckily her books are released ever six months so not too much waiting between installments and for that I am greatful!

9.Mind Games- I have heard so many good things about this one threw book blast's and tours that it has made its way to my list and I will be reading it as soon as I have the time!

10. Tidal- book three in the watersong trilogy? I believe its a trilogy, Im a fan of Amanda Hocking, her books are always fun, quick reads for me, And I dove into this series head first and have not yet been dissappointed!!!

What Stole My Heart~ The WHOLE BOOK!!! I'm officially obsessed, with this series and went straight into reading Avoiding Responsibility.  The feeling's in  the book just had my mind blown! I was all over the place when it came to how I felt about this book! Sometimes I wanted to kick our MC's ass! And other times I just wanted to crawl into a ball and cry with the poor Chica!

What Bugged Me Out~ The whole damn thing! Like I said above, my brain=Frazzled damn mess~! It's totally worth it, however I felt I needed a few shots of tequila everytime out MC took one! Ahhh I don't even know what to say its been three day's and Im still not sure what to say! I will say if your not a fan of books with love triangle's STAY AWAY because this book is like a love OCTAGON ! OIY

Leading Lady~  Alexa officially Lexi to everyone and Lex to Jack! She hate's the pet name coming from anyone else's mouth and personally I can't blame the chica!  She's a Law School Student, Brunette with big brown eye's! I Can relate to her there aren't enough brunette's in the book world! I just love her and hate her at the same time, damn does she make some horrible decision's in this book! She's like your bat crap crazy best friend who is her own worst enemy!!!!

The Guys~ This book has alot of them, the main being Jack Howard~ UGH I'm sure most woman can relate, this dude is a totally omg,  abecrombie model, oozing sexiness, yummy in your tummy, deliously sexy hot, wanna rip his clothes off hot hot man! Who has got to be the biggest JERK OFF on the entire planet! I want to rip his man part's off and pop them in a blender on high speed~!  But not before I have my way with him, Glutton for punishment! He's a chronic cheater, can't keep his you know what in his pant's! Ugh I could go on all evening on this character but I will stop myself because I have a few more post's to make tonight and my nighty med's have begun to kick in! Which could possibly be the reason for my ramblings! Let me know if I am making NO SENSE at this point and I will start my review's earlier in the day lol!

Ramsey Bridges~ I could also go on and on about this hunk of man! But I will spare you, and leave you with this.... I am Team Ramsey DAMNIT!

The Villain's ~ They are all villain's in their own right's in this one! They are all their own worst enemies, however the MAIN Villain is Bekah Bridges, she's the new lady in Jack's life and she is a royal BITCH! This girl get's off on Lexi's pain and she set's out from the beginning to ruin the poor girl. I'm not saying Lexi doesn't deserve some of it because of a few choice decision's she makes but shit no one deserves the wrath of Bekah the chic is a PAIN!!!!

Bottom Line~ This book is for 17 and older due to explicit sex scene's.  They are 50 shade's worthy without alot of the kink! It's def. a good read I really enjoyed the book, you feel the MC's pain, happiness, arousal(eeeekkkk i just said that) However its totally true at point's in the book I thought my Ipad/Iphone/Nook ( was reading on all devices, if one would die I would pickup the next lol) were going to just melt from all of the steaminess!!!!! It's a great book the writing is amazing! Im def. a new fan of K.A. Linde!!!! YOU SHOULD DEF. GO Buy this BOOK RTFN!!!! Here's a few links for that purchase you are going to make RTFN!

I am currently reading Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter. I have read all of the books in the Goddess Test Series, and planned on waiting to read it until I could make my way to the book store but it was sooo Yucky outside here yesterday I broke down and bought the Nook version, Oh well it was worth it....

I just finished reading Falling For You by Lisa Schroeder, I will be posting my review on this later today hopefully.  Im still not sure what I think of this book, I'm in the love it or leave it category right now and feel I need to think a little longer on how to word the way I felt on this one because it left an uneasy feeling in my stomach. So stay tuned for that later today!

What I plan on reading next, courtesy  of NetGalley I was approved for an eARC copy of this lovely book That Time I Joined The Circus by J.J. Howard.  I've seen it on many peoples TBR and I have to admit I'm seriously looking forward to picking this one up as soon as I finish Goddess Inheritance so yeah Im excited...

Monday Musing

Musing Monday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB over at Should Be Reading. Each Monday you muse about something book related, whether it be a reading habit, what your currently reading, or maybe just a book related rant (which is what I have for you today)

Tuesday two weeks ago (release day for new books) I loaded up the two littlest littles of mine ages 3 and 2, and we headed off to the local bookstore (Barnes and Noble) to pick up a few titles that were being released EEK, I was beyond excited to get my hands on a few titles Unravel Me, Breaking Point, and Sever. There were also a few others but I will get to those in a moment.  So B and N opens at 9 in my little city so of course I had the littles up at out the door at that time so we could make it home before nap time.  They are so cranky when we miss it and I need those few hours to regroup from our morning adventures.  Anyhoo...

We arrive and 9:40 (its quiet a drive for us) and I'm just seething at the mouth to get these books I've been anticipating for EONS.  I get the little's out and into the store and head off to the section they would normally be located, and start my search.  After 10 minutes I'm in a panic, where could they be, check my phone yup today is the day they are supposed to be on the shelves.  I'm looking high and low, okay not seeing them so I decide maybe over by the new release section (DUH).  I wrangle the little's who are becoming inpatient because they haven't had the opportunity to look at the picture books yet and we make our way over.

Nope not here either, by this time we have been in the store 30 minutes now, so we have to take a break from mom's search (while she is freaking out "this cant be right THEY HAVE TO HAVE THEM HERE") to head over the the kid's section of the store, where they each pick out twenty book's (how proud I am to have raised book lovers) but no, twenty is unacceptable "pick out just one" screaming and crying because they "wan dem awle mommy" and a cookie later I head to the service desk to ask about these book's that I'm beginning to believe are mythical and ask the store clerk for help.

After 15 minutes of searching yes it is here, no I cant find it, hold on one more minute, excuse after excuse FINALLY I have one book! Yay sweet success now how about the other three on my list?
After an hour and a half in the store I have 3 out of my five, the littles are down to there last spot of patience's and have begun to break.  I became one of those mother's (there is nothing wrong with them, I am not judging, its just never been me) whom are dragging their children threw the store, shouting "one more minute please" "calm down we are almost finished" "if you stop running around like   a wild monkey I WILL buy you another cookie".  I was defeated and decided it was time to leave I will order the damn things on-line when we get home, and as Im coasting threw the check-out with the little's officially acting like a pack of wild animals on the hunt.... I spot one, Oh Holy Heaven's its a miracle, the mythical book does excist. The rest of the story is blah blah pay for the books, load littles into the Mean Machine and head home.

My bookish is rant/ramble is why were half of the book's still in the back of the store in boxes? Am I being unreasonable? Why weren't they on the shelves? Is there a specific time they should have the new released book's in in there rightful places? I dont believe I will ever attempt purchasing books on release day again, and why is the set up of B and N so unorganized?  I want all the new books right were I can see them, I don't mind having to rummage threw shelves for books however, when they are new releases shouldn't there be a specific spot for them? Are all B and N's so hard to navigate or is it just mine whose layout makes absolutely no sense to me?

What stole my heart~ 

 Kenji-Oh My!!!! Im so happy there was much more of him in this installment, he is such a great character!!! He's funny, witty, smart, a leader, and the ultimate wingman I just love him so so much!!! There should be a Novella just about him, from his perspective because I would love to know why he doesn't talk about personal stuff!

The touching- it is so rare, however Tahera Mafi does it SO right!!! It leaves you breatheless and your heart racing!

What Bugged Me Out~

Oh the fact that there is a love triangle, but now that I think about it there wouldn't be much left without it! I just hate that I'm torn!

I want more touching scene's

Always being in Juliette's head, she can be such a downer sometimes, although I understand why!

Leading Lady~

Juliette Ferras, age 17, She is beautiful and tormented.  This girl gets kicked when she is down, which is always and I cant blame her for that.  She is a crier and a fighter.  Although she bugs me slightly sometimes ( I am an optimist) I am always on her side, she has a good heart but the worst of luck!

The Guys~

Castle ( He just creeps me out) Im sure its his demeanor and we don't see very much of him.

Kenji (Refer to above "what stole my heart" HE DID) James (Adam's little brother, and the sweetest kid) And of course there is Adam (poor Adam also has shitty luck) I wont go into it any further than that because I dont want to spoil anything for anyone who hasnt already read this book but he becomes the underdog in this one) And Warner (oh I don't even know where to begin with him so I will skip ahead and leave this un-described)

The Villians~

Anderson~ Warner's father ooOo I just do NOT like him, then again he wouldn't the villian if he was loveable now would he? 
Warner~ I guess he is supposed to be a villian as well although the lines in this book get blurry, and he isn't as villianous as you would expect after Shatter Me.

Bottom Line~ All in all I feel this was an excellent follow up book to Shatter Me, I had alot of climactic scene's and it was shock after shock.  Definitally a page turner Tahera Mafi has a wonderful way with words and an uncanny ability to create a world outside of our own.  I just wish there wasn't so much time spent in Juliette's head.  However if you enjoyed Shatter Me you will no doubt enjoy this follow up!!!!

New OBSESSION Downton Abbey

I know I'm behind on this boat, however after seeing it ALL over the web and it's great reviews not to mention it captured a number of Golden Globe Awards last year I believe, I just had to indulge myself. 

 And boy oh boy, am I just absolutely enthralled by this British television hit, and green with envy that the folks in Britain get to watch before us American's, even with the amazing technology such as Hulu, Netflix, and iTunes? Is there any justice in the world????

 I keed I keed, its no biggie, however I find it quite ironic that Im sitting in front of the tellie on my laptop with my iPad and iPhone on the arm of my comfy recliner watching times far simpler than the ones we live in now.  

 Is it horrible that I'm actually jealous of the relationship Lady Mary and handmaid Anna? They are like best friends even though they are from such different worlds there is such family closeness and loyalty between the help and the Lordships family. 

  I am however going to say that "Lady Edith" is just UGLY... and I am not referring to the way she looks I'm talking about what counts most, what is on the INSIDE and she is just mean to Lady Mary, its not Mary's fault she was born first!!!

 Can you tell I'm the oldest child in the family?   Well if you couldn't now you know I am oldest of five that is correct and there is a 15 year age difference between myself and the youngest. And thereis only a 6 year difference between my youngest sister and oldest son!!! Mind boggling when I think of it that way!!!  So I'm practically old enough to be her mother ...

So I recieved my package from my sweetheart swap last week, but have had a ton of family business going on so I am behind on posting about all of the goodies I received from my partner who rocks btw~!

 I got the lovely Nicholas Sparks novel Safe Haven it is a favorite of mine, along with a CD that is not the one in the case because its currently in my Minnie Van (or Swagger wagon and my son and younger brother call it!) Along with some yummy sweethearts, pink and blue nail polishes I have yet to try! I Smelly good candle some fancy showergel, a necklace, and purse charm bracelets!!!!

Awesome box of goodies, that I plan on enjoying really SOON!!!!

My Thoughts:
Okay guys, this was a really good book, a normal, nothing paranormal, plain old good book.  It was an easy read, not to heavy.  I read this book in one sitting (my husband wasn't happy about this).
The story is written from both Ella and Micha's point of view switching between the two of them every chapter.  Normally I am not a fan of this perspective however, I loved getting to see things from Micha's side.  And he's got a dirty little mind and his perspective would just make me giggle. Jessica Sorensen really tapped into his brain.
Bottom line if you need a timeout from your life, this book is an easy quick read that will have you wanting more.  Jessica Sorensen really knows her stuff.  Check out her blog on upcoming books and events Jessica Sorensen Blog .  Hope yall enjoy!!!

First official blog post!!!!! Eek

      I have been sick for the past five days now, runny nose, body aches, don't want to get out of bed but still have a household to run sick.  I have been taking it easy doing bare minimum sense Friday.  And while taking it easy I have been watching trashy television, exploring Pinterest to the point where I believe "I have seen it all" and I've become addicted to reading blogs,
      I love them, some of the girls on said blogs that I have been stalking have just made my crummy weekend they are all so witty and I feel like I know them and that in real life ( not me stalking them over the web) we could all be such great friends and so Combat Boots & Poptarts was born.  I hope my witty banter and rambling rants of my every day life can brighten up someone's day the way some of these amazing women I have decided to follow have brightened up mine.  I apologize if this post isn't all witty and tummy ache laughing but I will try very hard in future posts to get a laugh out of whoever in the web world decides to stop by.  And if no one does well I will just have to laugh at myself!!!!!!
